Banks, Brawls, and the Courts
Today, more than two hundred years after the debate over the issues of constitutional interpretation and the balance of power between state and national authority began, the sentiments expressed by men like Hamilton, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, and Marshall permeate many contemporary economic, social, and political debates. After careful consideration of the key arguments/debates surrounding McCulloch V. Maryland (1819), assess the vitality/relevancy of their positions today.
